*Road Trip*
Tomorrow morning, I'm heading out of here for Palm Springs!

Won't be back till midday Monday!

Now you know I'll have my laptop, my camera and like that!

So I will be checking in, esp. in the evenings!

My daughter's participating in an art fair!

And I want to ride the tram to the mountain-top!

Tonight, I'm doing laundry and getting ready to go...

I'm really excited about it...

10. Have a nice trip, Peggy
Sounds like fun.

I have several times been on hikes with the Sierra Club to Mt. San Jacinto, in which we took the tram from Palm Springs to the trailhead, and then hiked 6 miles each way between the trailhead and Mt. San Jacinto. The most recent time was last October.

In the past I have gone in September and October. Usually in September or early October it is still warm, or at least comfortable. We went during the later part of October about 3 years ago, and there was snow along the trail, and we had to cut the hike short. This last October it was very chilly in the early part of the morning, and with gusts of wind. However it became warmer and more comfortable as it got later in the day.

The hike is quite a workout. I have had the pleasure of going on the hike with all or mostly women.

Actually the most difficult part of the hike has been the uphill walk from the trailhead at the end of the hike to the tram station, when we are tired from hiking 12 miles.

11. My dear MikeH!
Thanks, it should be fun!

However, I am not in any sort of shape for a hike...:scared:

I do plan to take the tram, and get pictures from there, as well as from the top ...

16. My dear Peggy, I have a special request,
if you don't mind and since you've taken your camera along.

LOTS of photos, including closeups, of the art you see! One of my favorite DU threads EVER was TomInTib's thread about the art event he organized, including TONS of good photos. :)

Please? The Lounge needs not only great poetry, but visual art as well, and you're perfectly positioned this weekend to provide it. :loveya:

Thank you, gf!

17. My dear Heidi!
I am so glad I took one more turn around the Lounge...

If I hadn't, I wouldn't have seen your request in time!

You know I will have lots and lots of pictures...

I'll have to check with the artists to see if it's OK with them...

Otherwise, I'll do distance shots...and edit to bring things up close...

But provided that it is.......I'll be happy to take lots and lots of pics!

I'll see you later...

:loveya:
