Hi. It's a Saturday night, and I'm alone, so I thougt I would stop by the Lounge. Maybe share a drink with someone, and play the jukebox.
I saw a post here, a while back, asking for your favorite Dr. Demento song. I read that the most favored was "Bulbous Bouffant", which is a great song. But my fave is "Daffy Duck's Rhapsody." So, I decided to pull my one Dr. D from the stacks and give it a listen. It's been several years.
And I was totally blown away by how these songs are so relevant to our situation today. And that most all of them could be dedicated to my friends in certain Forums/Groups here.
So I set out into Youtube to see what I could find. And I found some amazing stuff. So, I've put it together here, and dedicate it to you, my friends at DU. The quarters are already in so just pick one and play. Hope you enjoy viewing it as much as I enjoyed finding it. For your viewing/listening pleasure, I offer, Demento's Opus, Part I.
'Daffy Duck's Rhapsody' aka Hungarian Rhapsody no. 2, Liszt.
The lyrics are so timely now. It was just a cartoon, and now it is part of some people's everyday life. And it is making them Daffy.
"It's bang bang here, and bang bang there, bullets flying everywhere. I can't stand it any longer, I get weak and they get stronger." Hmmm
