6. Well, I'm SUPPOSED to be off |
|
But opposing counsel set a hearing in Johnson County this morning, and I had to go for that. I stayed at our friend's house in south Fort Worth last night and went down for the hearing this morning, then drove 1 1/2 hours to get home to Irving. SIGH. I'm taking Wednesday afternoon off as comp time - I'd rather take Friday off, but I am seriously overdue for my teeth cleaning and the dentist is closed on Fridays.
I'M VERY TIRED.

I had to work on Saturday and Sunday, and let me tell you it was mind numbingly boring. I did manage to squeeze a few power naps in...just my way of sticking it to the man!

Freight is slow, rates suck, slow time for our regular customer, boss has the couple turns that came up covered no problem, I've been cooling my heels waiting for things to pick up.

21. Schools are out this week up here. |
|
So I've technically got the day off, even though I normally only have one class on Mondays and Wednesdays anyway. :) Tuesday and Thursday are my long days when I'm on campus most of the time.
Of course, I set it up that way because of my other 'job', so to speak. The whole reason I moved up here was because my grandpa can't drive and he has to go to dialysis three times a week... so I purposely set up my school schedule around the times on MWF that I have to drop him off and pick him up from the dialysis center.
And by happy coincidence, all four days I'm on campus I've got a two hour gap right when a nearby skating rink has open skating. :)

23. It's Family Day in Ontario. A brand-new provincial holiday. |
|
Provincial government offices and most stores are closed today, which is OK because who wants to go out on a shitty day like this? Many federal offices are open, though.

25. Just a way to promote the idea of families doing things together. |
|
We've always had fundies in Canada. We just know what to do with them, which is to marginalize them. Though for now they have a minority government, I'm confident that we'll marginalize them further in the next federal election.

27. I forgot I had off today and woke up to my alarms |
|
Edited on Mon Feb-18-08 03:56 PM by Faye
:( I totally forgot I had off today, so I set my 2 alarms and woke up to get ready for work. Then I was about to brush my teeth and realized I had off today. I was PISSED cuz I had planned on sleeping in today until I woke up naturally, since I didn't have to work and my daughter is not home to wake me up. But I ended up waking up at 8am anyway because I forgot I had off :eyes: Fortunately though, I fell back to sleep and didn't wake up until 2pm :D However, I kinda wasted my day off sleeping.
