I bought an Apple wireless router for my home. (So that I can talk to you all from my bed. :P :D )
I cannot find ANY Mac support info anywhere on their website. I have spent the past couple of hours looking for it.
Not only that, the different parts of the website are not integrated. You have to sign in to look at and pay your bill. You have to sign in AGAIN on the DSL side. Why? Why sign in again if I've already signed in?!? I'm damn sick of SSO screens!

I am guessing it is just another router upstream of your DSL modem. Check your IP settings, it may be a dynamic router on Verizon's end. That would be your 192.168.1.1. In your router, then change the Default Gateway setting to anything above it (e.g. 192.168.1.2 (or make the last digit higher if needed)). Then you should be able set up your security and wireless security from there from Apple's documentation. Make sure nobody can log into the router from outside the network, change the default password to log into the router, and also set up wireless security. Make sure your wireless security is WPA2-TKIP (WPA-TKIP also works if only option, do NOT use WEP) and make a 20+ digit password, it will be saved on your computer (Mac Keychain) so it is a one-time thing.

There may be some info here of use: http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=search&restrict=null&prefer=null&src=support_site.home&fac=null&q=airport%2C+dsl(Aside from the whole Verizon domestic spying thing -- their service has taken a nosedive in the past six months -- a DSL signal slower than dial-up, hours upon hours required on the phone to their tech support -- who needs it. I finally switched over to a cable modem.)
