Are these "hand painted" images actually painted on human flesh? Or is it computer work? (PHOTOS)
Edited on Tue Feb-19-08 01:54 AM by Radio_Lady
These "painted by hand" photos came to me in an email. There is no artist's name or biography attached to them.

Supposedly, the artist took four hours to paint each of these images. I am suspicious that they are computer generated in some way, not actual photos of real hands.

The photos are much larger in the original email, but Photobucket has pared them down to a smaller size.

Can you tell? There are quite a few images, so I'll post them in some relative order and leave them up until someone knowledgeable responds.

Thank you for taking the time to look.

Warm regards,

Radio Lady Ellen

1. Even if they were computer work, why wouldn't they be true artistic endeavors?

How is digital media any different than oil, watercolor or any other art material?

3. They are gorgeous. I'm not quibbling as to whether they are art or crap...
They have been presented as an image painted on human hands.

I'm just wondering if that is how they were actually done. That is all. Thanks for your comments, Heidi. What time is it where you are?

The reason I asked, Radio_Lady, is because your OP asks the question, "Are these 'hand painted' images a true artistic endeavor? Or computer work?" Computer work _can_ be a true artistic endeavor. That is all. :hi:

4. Hi Venus! Thanks for that link. I'm going to check the information but that looks pretty good.
Guido Daniele's amazing Hand Painting Art. Guido Daniele was born in Soverato (CZ - Italy) and now lives and works in Milan. Since 1964 until 1968 he attended Brera artistic High School and he graduated from Brera School of Arts (major in sculpturing) in 1972. In 1972 he started working as hyper-realistic illustrator, in co-operation with major editing and advertising companies, using and testing different painting techniques. In 1990 he added a new artistic experience to his previous ones: using the "body painting" technique he creates and paints models bodies for different situations such as advertising pictures and commercials, fashion events and exhibitions.

8. The Mass Mind of the Millions on the Internet...achieves once again.
We've "discovered" a new artist -- new to me, at least.

Nobody has ever heard of this painter before.

I'd love to visit him in Milan with an Italian translator.

It's great to have this website.
