2. i like candles but i need a bit more light that candles can provide

6. Get candle holders with reflectors on them...

especially to reflect the candle light upward, to hit the ceiling, and it provides more than enough light. I had a setup similar to that, it looked like twinkling lights on the ceiling, and filled the room with a soft ambient glow as well. OK, thinking back to some REALLY good memories. ;)
