It's not like they can pawn them or sell them on e-Bay....:shrug:

I've watched too many movies and read too many books I guess. Always seems to be about ego in acquiring stuff that nobody else has even if it means you never get to show it to anyone but yourself. You know, same reason rich guys get trophy wives.
