I was even bragging to my bf and my mom lately how good my back has been lately.
Today, I cooked a turkey breast in the crockpot and baked a potato. Bent over to get the potato out of the oven and *snap*.
sigh... I'm waiting to see how bad it'll be. It usually takes a few hours to really know. Wish me luck.

Microwave that bad boy!

4. Ah. Well, I've been known to microwave and then transfer to toaster oven for crisping cycle. |
|
I do hope your back pain subsides quickly.
How did the turkey turn out in the crockpot? I've never tried that.

delicious, but I tried to lift it out to put it under the broiler for a few minutes to crisp up the skin, and the whole thing fell apart.
So I won't be getting sliced turkey... but the chunks were delicious!

2. Oh damn I bet that hurt. Back problems suck eggs. |

Hope you are feeling better soon....or that it doesn't develop into something.

I tried to lift the corner of a hot tub this weekend, spent the weekend doing maintenance on it, and today, I broke up a bunch of branches and scooped up a bunch of yard trimmings to put in the bin.
Then I bent over to retrieve a potato. Sigh...
I've never hurt my back doing anything cool

Breathe. Move (if you must) SLOWLY; flat back exercise, against wall, if possible. Tighten butt, strengthen stomach muscles. Ibuprofen. RELAX!!!!
Happened to me opening fridge door once!

I'm sorry to hear that.:hug::hug:
How are your knees? Sounds like a strange question, I know. But years of vegetable gardening taught me to use my knees to bend as much as possible, to take strain off the back...especially when lifting things.
I hope you're quickly back to normal!

and yes, I should've bent my knees to get it, but I had a few things going on and all I wanted to do was retrieve a goddamned potato, so I just bent over without thinking.
grrrr

11. I used to have one of those |
|
but I'll be damned if I know where it is now.
But... it's a disc that presses on a nerve - heat doesn't really help much, and I have a hot tub for when my muscles are sore from walking like Groucho.
So far it doesn't seem too bad. I can't walk upright, but the pain isn't too bad. We'll have to wait 'til tomorrow to see what the real damage is.
It's just frustrating because it's gone out 3 times in the last year and a half or so, and I was so happy that it was doing well lately. I shouldn't have bragged about it - my Mom and I were comparing bad back stories, and I made the mistake of telling her mine was doing great.
