The Family Den (a fragment of a story)
In the family home, there is a den. This den is notorious for getting three times as messy as the den in an average home. The family has compensated by adopting a practice of periodically cleaning the den in a very thorough and unorthodox manner.

Periodically, there is a shopping expedition. An older member of the family is already carrying one parcel and then buys three dozen donuts. Now the older member of the family is carrying two parcels. The youngest member of the family claims to need exercise and asks to carry the donuts. It's a ruse. The older family member offers the other parcel to the youngest family member, but the youngest family member isn't interested. Obviously the youngest family member was hoping to grab a donut, but the donuts are needed to clean the den.

Yes, the three dozen donuts are mixed together and spread over the floor of the den. Soon a powerful shop vac is used to remove the donut mixture and any dirt sticking to it from the den floor. The usual unusual method has been applied and the den -- usually unusually messy -- is now clean.
