Adjusting color on a flatscreen TV
When I purchased my condo, it came with a 32" Insignia Flat Screen TV. The pictures overall have been good, but there have been times where the color "smears". The picture below is an exaggerated example, but this is what I am talking about:

What's the way to fix this? I am at work right no, but will check back. Thanks.

2. So it's a sporadic problem?
Sometimes it's normal, and other times it's not?

3. Sporadic, mainly with reds ....
A deep red slightly changing to a softer tone, but it does show with other colors.

6. My first guess is that your contrast might be set a little too high...

and your tint settings slightly off. But then again- most tv's and monitors have marked mid-points for tint now, so you might have to adjust it a notch or 2 away from the dead center?

Possible that the signal could be affecting it, too. Is it only when you watch TV (cable? sattellite?) or is it the same for DVD's? If it's fine for DVD's, then you could have a weak cable signal (I had that problem) and need a signal booster somewhere in the line.

I'd start by backing off of the contrast just a little.

No expert here- just remembering some of my own setup woes! :hi:

Oh, and on edit- I would think that the signal strength will be more of an issue if you're using the composite video input, as opposed to the S-video or component video inputs. Fuck, TV's are complicated now!!!

7. It's strong, as far as I can tell ...
a majority of the time, there's no problem.
