What "unbreakable" baseball record will be broken?
Everybody "knew" that no one could even approach 714 home runs...or Ruth's .847 slugging average...or Johnson's 3497 strikeouts...or, of course, Lou Gehrig's 2130 consecutive games played...and I still wonder if I hallucinated seeing *that* one broken... So: which "unbreakable" record is vulnerable...? I think just about every record is capable of being broken--the game can change very quickly, and who knows? One I'd bet the farm on--Nolan Ryan's 5700-odd career strikeouts. Some other horse will come along and pitch to 45, and eclipse it...any other guesses?
