Lunar eclipse just went total a few minutes ago...still SO cool!

All reddish colored, with Regulus visible above and Saturn visible to the side and slightly below. Kind of an odd-shaped triangle. We won't see that particular arrangement again in my lifetime, or yours.

Next regular total lunar eclipse in 2010, of course, but if you want to see a Once-in-a-lifetime event, step outside now!

1. I've been watching it for the last 90 minutes.
Always an amazing thing to behold! The clouds cleared up here in SoCal just in time.

18. The clouds cleared up here just in time, too
Of course, it's 19 degrees out, so we were definitely not standing in the backyard for 90 minutes.

15. We just got a break in the overcast, so I got a look. I know I could just look at pictures,
but it's not the same.

I hope you get an opportunity to see it.

17. I got to see it at half and just as it began returning. Which is lucky, as it was raining earlier!
Lots of people were out looking at it. I'm grateful for the change in weather.
