Has that ever happened to you? It's a weird feeling, because everything is so compact and the ground is slippery to the point you don't know what to do. I just stood there, waiting it out knowing it wouldn't be a major one (in fact, it was a 6.0 in Nevada, felt all the way in Salt Lake). The shampoo bottle fell onto my feet, which kinda hurt, but nothing too major.

But it would've sucked had that 6.0 originated from Salt Lake. Then the shower would have probably been my tomb and I don't want some rescue crew in a few days to find my lifeless nude body. That's just not right.

So from now on, if I'm showering and it begins shaking, I don't care how bad, I'm going to jump out of the shower and quickly put my boxers on. If I'm going to die, I'd rather die with some class.

2. At least they wouldn't have found you in that dirty underwear. Listen to your mother.

3. As a former EMT, I can assure you that a clean nude body
is vastly preferable to some pickups. Besides you think you're boxed with pants on?

4. Growing up in SF...
that was one of my big fears -- having "The Big One" hit while I was in the bathtub! :D

That did happen to a friend of mine who is originally from El Salvador. He was in the shower when one of those major, 7+ quakes hit. The house was coming down around him and he just ran for it out into the street, stark naked. He said, when your house is about to entomb you, "naked" just doesn't matter that much to you.

7. I lived in Redlands, CA for a few years.
We had a earthquake while I was taking a bubble bath. I just rode it out. It was actually kinda fun. And yeah, I enjoy bubble baths.

5. You could be like Tobias on "Arrested Development" - he was a nevernude
that could solve your problems.

Unless you fear that your dead lifeless body would be discovered with nothing but a pair of cut-off acid-wash jeans with fringe hanging from them.

8. My earthquake experience was much different from yours.
I was fully dressed and riding a motorcycle on the freeway at about 80 knots. It was a very memorable experience.

Regard, mugu

9. Yeah, but I didn't notice it
Usually I don't notice them if I'm moving when they hit. The time I was in the shower, when I opened the shower door, I noticed the water in the toilet was moving. I thought, "That's weird. Oh, must have been an earthquake." Later I heard that there was one. I think it was the "Whittier quake" but don't remember for sure.
