12. Actually, most of these efforts are very worthwhile.
From my perspective, these are children, and they are talking and thinking about science in almost all of these displays.

I may be a prude, but I think it is horrible to ridicule these children. They worked hard, they thought, and they were involved in science.

It is notable that there are very few websites devoted to ridiculing children's MBA projects or entertainment projects.

I applaud the kids, every one of them.

17. I think everyone feels total empathy for being that age & being
forced to come up with a science fair entry.

It's a shared pain and that's why it's funny. (Unless one is completely humor-impaired, that is.)

16. These kids are WONDERFUL.
Jeez, I have total empathy for them---weren't you ever forced to do a dumb-ass science fair project?

Try to lighten up a bit.

20. Actually...
I'm wondering whether the one boy found that magnetism affects plumeria regeneration...

And I agree that making fun of these kids is not cool.

What's more, I really like that one guy's sweater. :D

22. I completely, 100% agree.
I am kind of pissed off that people think this is funny. What are they mocking? The content of the projects? Since we can't see what's in the projects, we can't possibly know the value of the science within. The titles of the projects? In my opinion, 90% of those titles are eye-catching and creative; there's nothing to mock there. The appearance of the students?

The appearance of the students?

That's mostly what it is, I think: Let's make fun of the fats kids, the socially awkward kids, the black kids.

Everyone of you that thinks that this is hilarious should be ashamed and should take a look in a mirror.

End rant. Flame away.

Many of the kids were creative - Foot Fetish, This Project Stinks.. yay for them! I think what is so funny is that all across America, kids from 10 yrs ago, 20 yrs, ago etc and today are left with the same science fair kit: Poster Board, markers, cool lettering, and some pics cut out from a magazine.

But the last guy...Plants and Pop - he phoned it in...it looked like he forgot his project went to the teachers lounge stole some plants (plucked the foliage off of one) and a 2 liter of pop, quickly wrote up a title on some notebook paper and went for it. That could have been my husband.
