My seven yr old daughter absolutely stunned me a few minutes ago. We're watching the debate together and it starts off with the usual kid stuff: "I think Hillary is winning the talk mom". "Um Abby, that was the opening statement. Obama hasn't said anything yet." "Well I like her and people are clapping a lot so she's winning." :)

We sit and we listen for a few more minutes.

"Mom? Why does she say she's for health care if she voted for that war? War kills people".

I'll be honest, I feel bad we live in a world where a 7 yr old has knowledge of war. When I was 7 Vietnam was a full throttle and the protest were getting big. MLK was killed and my town when insane. I have to say I feel pretty lucky that my parents were able to shield me from it and let me run out a play.
