Talk about being able to get into & out of tight landing strips!

1. Very cool - I could park one in my driveway at that length
I wonder, though, if it could have continued the climb right after takeoff - otherwise, that short landing strip had better be surrounded by nothing taller than grass...

4. Is that a Helio?
Doesn't look like any of the Helio types I'm aware of, like the Courier. Could be a Maule, I guess, but I can't find one with a nose that short or without a "razorback."

I once saw an airplane on teevee that had a full-flap stall speed of, I think, 32 mph. :wow:

5. From the manual for the Antonov AN-2
"If the engine quits in instrument conditions (blind flying when you can't see the ground) or at night, the pilot should pull the control column full aft (it won't stall) and keep the wings level. The leading-edge slats will snap out at about 40 mph (64 km/h), and when the airplane slows to a forward speed of about 25 mph <40 km/h>, the airplane will sink at about a parachute descent rate until the aircraft hits the ground."

Then again, this is a Soviet era aircraft...
