Any Alcoholics here?
I've been sober for 4 days and am starting taking Antabuse.
Just asking.

Mike

1. There's a group here for alcoholics and addicts.
Check it out. I know some folks here have admitted being alcoholics, but I'm not comfortable naming them. Check out the group. And, best of luck to you, Mike.

Man, best of luck to ya. I remember how I felt four days in. It was NOT fun.

3. Me. Four days is great. Give it some time and you'll be feeling even better.
You get comfy in a new routine/lifestyle and it gets easier.

10. Present!
Sober 29 years. I remember those first few weeks and months of being newly sober. I wasn't on Antabuse, but I was given Librium by my family doctor for the first year. I clung to the people I met in AA. For awhile, I had to give up my ego and forget about myself so I could follow AA to stay sober. After about a year, I was able to return to my old self (minus the drinking). I pretty much stopped going to AA after that, but I stayed friends with the people I met there. That was a very important part of my success.

Congratulations on your first four days. It you can make it past two weeks, you'll feel alot better. I know you can do it. Hang in there and if you want to talk, PM me.

12. Good luck. One day at a time. Are you in a 12 step group?
If not, please, please do. I know you will think its all a joke, but they really help if you can lose a little ego and let the process carry you and hold you.

21. Good start, keep it up.
Well I guess you have no choice, with antabuse and all....

Someone told me he got a reaction even from vinegar when he was taking antabuse.
