So I had the EMG yesterday |
|
which was not terribly painful, just kind of funny feeling. But this morning, not much on my arms or hands wants to work... especially my elbows and my thumbs.
While I was on the table, I began to consider... what kind of demented mind first thought up using electrical shocks for medical testing.
Yes, I know that they're not using a lot of electricity, and I know that for what they're measuring, it's probably the most efficient method, but still.... :wtf: "Let's shock the patient!" Probably the same bastard that thought up leeches....

1. GAH! I've had several of those! |
|
I find them really painful. (I have MD). I've even trained my neurologist to call the room he does it in the "torture room". I hope your test results are good.

2. I've been through one myself, electric shocks, needles and a computer... |
|
very painful for me, and I couldn't move my neck or arm for almost a week after that.

5. I can move, but for the most part, I don't want to |
|
and it's not about pain really. Today, my left thumb doesn't want to close around anything. And my right elbow just can't be bothered--it doesn't hurt, it just seems really fatigued.

Having worked in the medical system for years, I can tell you, if you didn’t know you were there for help, you would think you were being tortured. They take away your clothes, stick you with needles, ignore your concerns and deprive you of food and water, before surgery and some tests. We used to actually tie people down so they couldn’t pull out the tubes we had stuck in every orifice. Stay warm and hydrated, always good advice, although I have only seen an EMG once, that was enough.

6. I keep getting that test. |
|
x(
My symptoms look SO MUCH like neuropathy that they keep testing me for it over and over again. So even though I keep getting normal results, they keep checking.
They always say, "this won't hurt." B.S.
I've come away from that table in horrible pain from muscle spasms, and bleeding where they pushed in those pins. Those small jolts trigger whatever problem I'm having.
I hope you get the use of your arms and hands back quickly.
