I just realized that the musical group "The Beatles" was spelled differently from the insect "beetles".

Feel free to call me a dumbass...

4. That didn't throw me...

I knew they replaced an "e" with a "y". But I never realized until about 10 minutes ago it that the base word is "Beat", as in music.

Understand that I've always spelled the band's name correctly, and the insect correctly. I just never realized they were different!

5. That confused the hell out of me when I was a kid.

I had a friend with the nickname "Beetle" (we all had bug names ... don't ask) but I always spelled it "Beatle"

7. I had two duh moments today

both about the same thing.

It's been snowing pretty steadily here since yesterday so there's a lot of bright reflective white surfaces about. So naturally I wear my sunglasses when I step outside.

Twice today I frantically searched for my sunglasses, and started to go back to where I last was to see if they'd fallen out of my pocket... only to realize halfway there that they were on my face. D'oh.

ok i have plenty of my own i'm sure but....so my husbands sends me an email and says "I sent 3 emails out to people i work with and only one responded and he seemed kind of pissed, can you read it and tell what you think" ok so i read the the email he sends out and he signed it "thanks MF" "Well i think i see your problem dear, they might thing your are referring to them as "Motherfucker" he responds back with "What, why?" i tell him "Your initials are MF...yes, MF could also be seen as mother fucker....yes?"

So he sends back another email "Oh my god, i am 42 years old and i never once made that connection before"

swear to god, i was pissing myself laughing, he really never thought of MF as motherfucker, needless to say he doesn't ever sign anything using "MF" any more.
