I'm stuck here in front of my computer. Nothing seems to be able to lure me away. The house is a mess, my tax return remains uncompleted even though I am owed money. My work just called and left a message (this is my day off so anything I did for them would pay handsomely)... My garage is a disaster. My poor dog would really love a walk around the neighborhood. I should really go buy some workout clothes. I've had a few chips & salsa plus a cup of coffee. Probably a million things I could be doing other than this.
It's like there are invisible handcuffs attaching me to my keyboard.

4. True. Although in my defense there are 3 other able-bodied people |

including 2 kids, yet I'm the only one who ever does it. Unless I browbeat or bribe one of the kids.
Plus there's a huge back yard he can come and go to as he pleases, and the kids do play with him back there occasionally. Or he chases squirrels.

I find I have to set little goals for myself or I get overwhelmed with what needs to be done and end up doing nothing at all. If it weren't for the fact that my kids count on me, I would do nothing at all some days.

the same demons. LOL
I keep a checklist of mundane things that need to be done - and more important tasks that are required to achieve bigger goals. The objective of this list is not perfection - just maintanence with progress noted. And, yes, there are rewards attached for some accomplishments. No punishments for my own laziness though. Falling behind is it's own special hell sometimes. Probably not for everyone. But it adds some structure, allows me to sense some accomplishment for repetitive tasks, and incorporates some longer term goals. And it is still my choice whether or not I do anything on that damn list.....
