I simply cannot get through a single episode of "Family Guy" without turning it off.
That show is the single lousiest excuse for entertainment I've ever seen.

Simpsons, Futurama, King of the Hill, South Park--there's no comparison. x(

2. I was subjected to it once. I could NOT figure out the appeal.
Then again, I think I'm the only one in the country that didn't think Will & Grace was the least bit funny or entertaining. I'd rather hear nails on a blackboard.

3. Season 1 was quirky, esoteric, fairly crude, and funny...
Season 2 was esoteric, quirky, even more crude, and funny...

Season 3 was unmitigated crap...

Apart from "Blue Harvest" (which bloody rocked!), it's been going downhill since.

Fortunately, they will be spoofing the other two SW movies (V and VI, I-III are already spoofs of themselves), so I'm hoping they'll be as off-the-wall and witty.

5. Even as a fan of the show, I can sympathize.
It's not so much a "program" as an assortment of randomly-assembled
IDEAS for a program.

Completely hit-or-miss stuff.

9. I don't know about an episde.
But yes, I am unable to sit through a single 22-minute episode without going:

"What? What does that have to do with anything?"

"Saw that one coming a mile away..."

"OK, OK, we got it--can we move this along please?"

"Oh brother, not THIS again..."

"Simpsons did it better..."

"That wasn't even a JOKE--it was just a recreation of something else!"

"What does this show have against women, anyway?"

"That's it--I can't take it anymore...."

CLICK.

However, South Park sucks ass. :hide:

10. I'm getting sick of it.
They play the same episodes over and over again on 4348756389568935873 different channels. That stupid Peter fighting the chicken thing got old the first time it aired.

22. More than three.
They also threw in a mention of how the feud ACTUALLY started. Long before the expired coupon. The Back to the Future spoof episode where they went back to the 80s to make sure Peter and Lois got married at the big dance he bumped into the chicken by accident and made the chicken spill his drink or something. The chicken was about ready to start a fight when one of his friends held him back and said something like, "Hey, calm down. You're probably never gonna see that guy again anyway."

13. I understand how to solve your problem
Keep the television on through an entire episode. That will help you get through an entire episode.

You don't have to like it. You just have to watch it. :tv:

15. And I thought I was the only one
I'm one of those people who just doesn't "get" Family Guy. I've tried to watch it several times, but no matter how hard I try I just can't sit through it.

I could still watch just about any episode of the Simpsons, even from the "unfunny" seasons.

17. Funniest show ever to show up on TV! Brilliant, intelligent, while at the same time,
3 Stooges like blatant physical slapstick comedy.

Incredibly intelligent show. But it's dressed in crudity, sarcasm, irony, and barf jokes, so it might seem stupid to people who can't see what's really happening in the show.

19. Part of it is the 'inside joke' appeal.
They repeat alot of things (evil monkey, greased up deaf guy, chicken thing, etc), as well as make outside references. Part of what I enjoy is making the connections.

25. I know how you feel
I don't think the show is very good, and I sometimes turn it off. What hurts is that I'll think to myself "there must be something better on", and 30 channels later..... no.

26. OH, for sure. That show sucks
hopefully no one here will rally to declare what a brilliant show it is. If they do, how do we decide? Who is smarter, those who declare it to be utter garbarge, or those who live for its message

27. Rocky & His Friends was good. King Leonardo, Beany & Cecil, they were good too.
The current cartoons for adults aren't very good.

My mind wanders when I watch them. Then I turn them off.

28. That reminds me of the time...
I served sushi to Mahatma Ghandi...

And the way they repeat the same gag to fill time. It's only a twenty minute show. Why do they have to fill time.

I've just never gotten into it. It is funny on occasion, just not consistently enough to depend upon.

I think it's written by Manatees.
