My thermostat is set at 50 degrees when I'm not home and 55 when I am. :(

6. I don't even turn my heat on |
|
Electric heat... controlled by separate thermostats in each room. There's one radiator in the house (in the bathroom) which is connected to the apartment downstairs (my landlord). I leave the bathroom door open and let him heat my house. I keep the bedrooms closed off and only turn the heat on in those rooms when I'm in them.
Despite hardly using the heat, my electric bill went from $50/month to $200/month.
I dress in layers, keep my feet in big slippers, run the dryer and cook to help keep the house warm, and still I'm cold all of the time.
Most nights I just go to bed because at least there I can be warm.
I don't know that I've ever been so well-rested.

3. I was just thinking the same thing |
|
My feet have been so cold. The cold weather here in the past few weeks just cuts right to the quick. Even when It's a moderate 30 degrees, it's so stinking damp that I still can't warm up. :scared:

I'm sitting on my bed in shorts and a t-shirt...oh, and the window is wide open.
It was 81 today.
Really. Come visit!

I'd love to come see you.
Unfortunately, I'm course administrator for 2 classes this semester. I'm not going to see any time off until the end of May.

7. CA will still be here in May |
|
at least, one hopes it will be. ;)
Although I guess you would no longer need to come here for warmth. Maybe next winter!

8. Same here -- it's horrible |
|
If I'm going to be spending this much money on heating oil, I want to be wearing shorts and t-shirts, not sweats and woolsocks in the house.

9. I have to blow dry my pajamas before I put them on |
|
that's how cold it is in my apt.
We have heat, but it doesn't circulate well and we have huge floor to ceiling windows in every room. It's okay when it's in the 40's, even upper 30's. But when it drops below freezing, I'm an icecube. My joints want it to warm up!
