It never fails. It NEVER, EVER FAILS!!! |
|
I meet someone attractive, intelligent, and interesting...and she either has a boyfriend (tonight's case) or is too damn busy. It always happens. Always! I'm sick and tired of it!
Is the pool of attractive, intelligent, and interesting women in Tampa that damned small?!
Ugh. I'm tired of being Fate's punching bag...or maybe "Fate's sick joke" is more appropriate.

1. I would say get out of Tampa... |
|
but the nearest city to there that I know of is Orlando, and from my experience the dating pool there is great... if you're into vapid mindless fresh out of high school college drunks.
So yeah... I didn't date much when I lived there. :P

3. Oh there are exceptions of course. |
|
But because there's absolutely no culture of any kind there, it's hard to find things going on where one would meet like-minded people... with the exception of going downtown to a club and getting drunk with other people who like going to clubs and getting drunk.
But since I don't like going to clubs and getting drunk... yeah.

7. If by 'culture' you're referring to bacterial growth... then yeah, there's plenty in Orlando. |
|
It's so damn humid that vegitation rots while it's still attached to the plants.

I know just how bad it is. There is no exaggeration or hyperbole in what I've said about it. :P

14. Believe me, I'm workin' on it. |
|
Mind you, until housing prices are actually affordable by most people, your state doesn't qualify as civilized either... ;)

15. We've got tons of places going for under $200K now. Actual liveable places in reasonable areas. |
|
I haven't seen that in ten years. Yay foreclosure housing glut! :woohoo:
Plus a lot of other things (food, insurance) cost less, and wages are higher. And schools here are much cheaper, and there are no giant flying roaches, poison toads, killer lizards impersonating logs, old people in big cars or Katie Harris senate campaigns to worry about.

Either you'll become seasoned and immune to Fate's cruelty or it'll kill you. Either way, you'll be better off. At least, that is how I handle Fate's vicious cruelty to make me not only lesbian, but attracted to punk rockers and born in one of the most impoverished areas and in one of the worst rural backasswards parts of America at the same time. No, no, I'm not THAT bitter. I'm actually able to laugh about it now in between grumbling.
I know the feeling. :pals:

16. There is only one way to go when you are at the bottom. |
|
It's a win/win situation. When you are at the bottom, you got nowhere to go but up, so throw it out there and see what grabs ya and there ya go. :D

10. Just take a deep breath, |
|
get a good night's sleep and then jump right back in the water. It'll get better. Besides, when you aren't looking for someone attractive, intelligent and interesting, that's when they always appear. It's like magic.

18. Nah, there's tons of attractive, intelligent and interesting women in Tampa. |
|
You just have to really look for them, or stop looking for them so to speak.
They're usually not where you expect them. I've found most of them through my various interests (animals, politics, the gym, work, etc). I seemed to find them when I was least interested in looking for them.
You involved in any of the clubs at USF?

20. Club involvement? Eh, not really. I'm not a "people person." |
|
I'll go to the occasional non-academic lecture on a topic of interest, but that's about it.
And frankly, most of the clubs on campus don't really hold any appeal me, for one reason or another.

The Democratic party in your area is probably swarming with "attractive, intelligent, and interesting women".
Good luck.
