Too busty to fly? Southwest tells young woman to cover up her DDs
I thought this deserved its own thread... seems like a pattern at Southwest, though.

Another flier on Southwest Airlines has come forward and is upset that she was asked to cover up as she was dressed what the airline (or more likely some passenger that complained) too provocatively. Like Kyla Ebbert before her, she is now making the media rounds complaining.

Setara Qassim said she was asked to cover up because of her plunging neckline and short skirt. Setara says "the flight attendant came up to me and asked me if I had a sweater and I said no because why would I pack a sweater in the heat. So, I asked her why and she said I need to cover up."

***

Airline spokesman Chris Mainz says that Southwest lets their employees make the judgment call on passenger’s outfits. “We don’t have a dress code,” Mainz says. "We rely on our employees to use common sense good judgment and good taste. It’s so rare for us to have to address a customer’s clothing issue."

If Southwest is stupid enough to complain, let 'em cash in.

19. Usually women who aquired them naturally tend to not be so narcissic
If anything they realize they're more of a hinderance expecially with clothing and the overall health of their back.

When you spend good money on them you can't wait to put them out there for everyone to see. It's a shame that society has this perverse ideal that the larger the breast the more attractive.

Of course there are exceptions to every rule

I know lots of small-boobied women who show them off often... and also large boobied women who show them off often... and also women with all sizes who don't show them off.

That's just a personality preference, nothing to do with boob size or whether they're real or fake.

Edited on Fri Feb-29-08 11:11 AM by Boojatta
They're a bit fuzzy though. One of them is even. One is odd. Another feels a bit like a prime number, but it might simply be relatively prime to the odd number or relatively prime to the even number.
:+
:hi:

Actually, you know what? I don't think there's any hidden message about the powerball numbers. What's hidden is the name of a relative of the powerball winner. I think it starts with an L or has an R in it near the beginning. There seem to be at least two Os in there or maybe it's a Q or a B or maybe it's that R that I mentioned I saw near the beginning of the name.

I've always hated it when smaller chested women will say things like "I can wear a tank top without looking like a slut!" I hear that all the time. I have big boobs, acquired by good old fashioned genes fwiw. I don't see why I should have to be ashamed of them. I wear tank tops and halter tops in the summer, and screw the haters who think I'm a narcissistic slut.

43. my ex was very sensitive about it
she had a big chest and would often wear clothing that was unflattering so she wouldn't get stares. I remember even buying her a sweater once, and then afterwards she complained that she got too many stares & whistles and never wore it again. She even said one of the reasons she liked me so much in the beginning was because I was the first guy she had met that didn't talk to her chest first... not a great reason, in my opinion, but I've never been in her shoes. (she also had big blue eyes as well, so that didn't hurt)

But, I also knew a girl from my high school ages ago that was similar - she only went on blind dates set up by her girlfriends because she was so concerned about guys only liking her for her chest. I think I remember hearing she married a guy she met on a blind date.

we were set up by a mutual acquaintance and chatted on the phone for a while before we actually went out on a date (well, it was more like, I listened while she spoke - she was very talkative, too)

but, right before we met, she broke her foot and when I pulled up in front of her place, she came hopping out on one foot to greet me... and, well, I certainly knew hers were real right away.

59. Yeah, I've dated a few girls who were really big.
Two with DDs and one who was even bigger than that... she wasn't fat at all, but I could barely get my arms around her. That's how big they were. And all three of them were completely natural. The largest one knew she would probably have to have reduction surgery at some point, otherwise she was gonna end up with back problems. There is such thing as too much.

She was really cute though, despite her odd proportions. I wish things had worked out better between us. (and by that, I mean I wish we'd dated long enough to get in some happy naked fun time. :P But alas, it was not meant to be. She was rather prudish and inexperienced with dating, and I was on the rebound and not in the best position to be with someone like her.)

Oddly enough, all three were below 5'1 too. And on girls that short, big boobs look even bigger.

48. Amen
I'm so sick of the attitude that large breasts are something to be ashamed of and hide away as well as the notion that every woman who has large breasts not only has implants but is also a shameless slut on top of it all. Bull.Shit. I find it much more interesting how women are so keen to put one another down with snide comments about fake breasts. Some of us have the real thing and aren't one little bit ashamed of it.

That woman's breasts are completely covered by the halter top. There's nothing indecent about it unless maybe you're Amish and I'll bet you 6 M&Ms that hundreds of smaller-chested women dress like that every day and nobody gets all upset. To me this sounds like it's the result of a complaint by A) an infantile man who can't control his sexual thoughts or B) a woman who is insecure about her own cleavage. Either way, pathetic.

Real or fake, it doesn't matter. Even if it did, I don't know how anyone can look at the pic in the OP and make the determination either way. I'm built very much like that woman. I'll hear comments about women shaped like us; "No way are those real, skinny women never have big boobs". It's just ridiculous. Women come in all shapes and sizes, either natural or enhanced. I think we should be able to wear what we want, what we're personally comfortable with without the harsh judgments.

66. You point being, I think, much the same as my own opinion about the breast size of any given woman:
"Doesn't matter if they're big or small, it's who they're attached to that counts."

I've had relationships with women who had breastage ranging from whatever's less than an A cup, to ones even more well-endowed than Mrs R. And the breastage those women had, or didn't, was never even the slightest factor in me deciding if I liked them or not.

Now the SHOULDERS...those, they had to have good ones of. And the lower back, where it swells out to the hips...Christ, don't get me started.

114. Definitely,
I'd bet my last dollar the women here who get into the biggest tizzy over this stuff are not comfortable with their own bodies and their own sexuality. If you're comfortable with yourself and have your own healthy, active sex life, this stuff is pretty much a non-issue.

I completely agree with you. Despite the fact that I have no (or at least I'm trying to lose some weight to make sure I don't get any) boobs.

Sometimes what's comfortable is also what shows off a particular part of one's body. C'est la vie. I've always had rather broad shoulders, and now that I finally have some muscle on 'em I am a bit proud of them... but when I wear a tank top it's because I don't want to overheat. Not because I want to show off my muscles.

Well, most of the time when I wear a tank top. :)

Just saying.

Besides, is there something inherently "bad" about seeking attention? I wear figure hiding scrubs in my professional life, but in some settings I like looking sexy. On a plane? Probably not my personal preference, but I wouldn't spend my time thinking about it much or making snap judgments. To want to look sexually desirable isn't weird or wrong. Human sexuality is a normal thing.

but, good looks are valued in men, too. However, when I see a guy that a lot of women think is good looking, I often find myself wondering why. I'll admit it if I see a guy and I'll say, "ok, I can see why women think he's good looking," but that doesn't happen very often. And, I'm not talking about certain famous actors - just guys in the office or whatnot.

I'd guess "no" as I see plenty of very large under dressed tourists at my airport (in Orlando). They seem to only make an issue out of it when a woman is very attractive, which is certainly discrimination of a sort. Enough already; I'm sick and tired of people being shamed for their physiques, whether they are overweight or blessed with youth and good genes (or a good surgeon; that's all a matter of personal choice and no one's business, imho).

Southwest does that by policy with travelers overweight enough not to fit in one seat. Which sounds kinda shitty, but having got half of the already-too-cramped-for-comfort seat I paid for because somebody else is taking up all of theirs and half of mine, I suppose it beats the alternative of forcing the neighbor to get less space than they paid for and a miserable flight.

but I have been seated next to a 300+ pound man who took up much of my seat, and that was very unpleasant.

I guess I could rephrase the question to simply: if she were just plain unattractive and dressed that way, would they have still demanded that she cover up?

Southwest Airlines Has Beef With Double-D's

* Wow, "Keith" must be working some serious overtime! Southwest Airlines gave another woman hell for wearing "revealing" clothing, just a week after a woman was nearly booted off a flight for wearing a mini-skirt. Setara Qassim was forced to wear a blanket by a flight attendant because she thought Setara's top was too low cut. Dude, is it just us, or does Southwest seriously have a problem with girls with ample breasts
