8. Seriously, what do you like about this show? |
|
A female friend calls the show "a gay man's idea of what a single woman's life is like in Manhattan."
I mean, there is nothing remotely realistic about this show, is there? I don't know single women like these, I've never met single women like these, I actually don't know any single woman who likes the show, though clearly there are many that do for it to be this popular.

12. What's really realistic about any given TV show? |
|
I'm the same age as Miranda, Carrie and Charlotte (Samatha was about 5 years older in the movie). I realize that no one could make the salary that Carrie makes and still be able to afford the wardrobe she has (she was in a rent control - it was $750/month, but it seems all starving NYC sitcom stars manage to find rent controlled apartments). But honestly, I could easily relate to many of the dating problems (I'm a Miranda - I've always been cyncial). I can't tell you how many times I've watched a show and saw stuff they dealt with that happened to me (I've dated Sloppy Kissers, Bad-Breaker-Uppers and many many other type men that were in the show).
People either get it or they don't. I happened to love it

Oh, well. We had a good run.
Seriously, I wouldn't be so bitter about it if SatC weren't broadcast 24/7. Even in its heyday M*A*S*H* was only on three or four hours of every day!

A woman my dad was dating has a scene in it with her dog :) I guess she is standing with her little dog out on the sidewalk and says to the girls "you all look so beautiful" or something like that. She shot the scene last spring, I think. She is a pretty thin woman (has been a dancer and actress all of her life) and she said she felt like a big cow next to the Sex in the City girls, but had a lot of fun working with them.
