44. I saw "Phuc Deap" on a mortgage app once.
Back in the early 1990s I used to be a mortgage processor. We used to have a huge, several page list of odd names that came through. Unfortunately Mr. Deap is the only one I can remember from those heady days of 3.5% mortgage rates.

10. I have a given name that I've never liked, but at least my parents didn't inflict it
on me on purpose. They had honorable reasons for naming me what they did, and could not have foreseen that I'd not like the name.

You're going to get some replies here that will be funny but a bit sad at the same time, because the peoples' parents were either intentionally cruel or unbelievable ignorant.

I used to work in ticketing for an orchestra - she ordered a ticket to a concernt, but needed an aisle seat near the back and an exit because she was being tormented by demons. She was serious.

At the time I found it amusing, when I was much younger and less wise. Now I find the whole incident very sad.

Whynot's a very common last name here--it may be a corruption of Weinacht, since a lot of Hessian mercenaries settled here after the Revolution rather than risk a transAtlantic crossing home. :hi:

A Gyneocologist in Nashville by the name of Dr. Morehead (one of my co-worker's Dr.)

Also working at the same place of business was a girl named Candy Fudge. (We all thought she should have been a stripper to have that name.)

From my neighborhood when I was a kid... Jack Haas

also guys with first names of Augustus and Budgie (yes, the bird)

My favorite is from a http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/metro/20060330-1552-marksman.html">news article linked on fark a few years back...a young man was stupid enough to play "crip killer" music in a crip neighborhood and was a victim of a drive by shooting because of it. His name was Dom Perignon Champagne, to which someone commented: "he is survived by a little sister Franzia...she lives in a box"

85. Ima Hogg
Daughter of populist Texas Governor Jim Hogg. She willed their estate, the Varner-Hogg plantation to the state of Texas, and it is now an extremely underfunded, yet popular, state park.
