I have jury duty tomorrow. I am happy to do my civic duty but
this is not a good week for that, work-wise. Anyway, it seems like if I get picked, they can keep me forever! I've never been picked for a jury (got called up and dismissed 3 times in Massachusetts). Probably because I'm a lawyer. Maybe that will work for me tomorrow. Actually, I'd love to be on a jury if the time was right.

1. I might have to report on Tuesday or Wednesday.
I did this last year and nearly got put on the jury for a sexual harassment case, which would've been really interesting.

3. I wonder why they keep calling you. I thought that once you served
or showed up, you couldn't be called again for a few years.

8. I don't believe that we have.
Greeting from balmy (for this time of year) Northern Illinois. :hi:

Best Regards, Mugu

5. Interesting. I've never known a lawyer who served.
Everyone I know who got called up got dismissed just like you were saying. The lawyers on the case are probably afraid of looking foolish.

6. From your lips to God's ears! I hope they don't want me!
I think lawyers trying these cases probably are afraid we're opinionated (moi?????) and will think we can do a better job (moi?????). God! I hope they think that!!! I'll check in tomorrow...funny, in one way, I'd love to be on a jury!

7. I would, too. I get the form quite a bit, but because I have a child
younger than 16 in the house, I get excused.

9. My sister was on a jury for a six week murder trial over the summer.
Luckily she works for a large corporation that pays her while she's on jury duty, because the daily stipend might cover lunch and gas there and back, and apparently the judge wasn't letting people out for minor hardships like not being able to make rent if they went six weeks without working.
