It has to be against the law to keep livestock in an apartment.

4. Miniatures are often service animals. |
|
I've seen them. They are really bizarre because they are so little.

A friend of my wife's was facing fines and eviction for having rabbits in her apartment. Rabbits! We all know how horrible they are. All were fixed domestic rabbits who had been abandoned after Easter. There were over 20 of them, but the owner kept them very clean and free from odor. The neighbor was tipped off by the hay delivery and she called the city. So, our town had no such ordinance, so we took them in for five freaking months while she found a new place for them.

A neighbor called the cops even though it was clean and odor-free? And the woman was caring for abandoned rabbits? Do you agree that this was the right thing for the neighbor to do, since "people have a duty to advise the police of criminal activity"? That's wonderful that you took in the rabbits. You sound like a good person.

6. I tell you what. I don't know why the neightbor felt it was necessary... |

...to call the police. Nevertheless, my wife's friend was in violation of the ordinance and she can't blame the neighbor for that.
If it was me, I would have kept it to myself. I don't think you can compare an obsolete farming ordinance like what Akron has with the real danger of drug trafficing. (Yes, she didn't see him buy it, but he has to get it from somewhere.) There are just too many unknown there to take a chance. Besides, the smoke itself is a nuissance. As far as I know, no one has ever been killed by rabbit dealers. And there was no odor, not even indoors (except for the freakin' cat box and even that wasn't bad.)
