Hooray! just signed up for my last two graduate courses...ever! |
|
I'm taking my two final courses this summer. They are Intro to Research (which was supposed to be the first class I took so now I'm taking an intro to research class at the end of grad school...that so makes sense!) and Drugs in Society, which sounds like fun and it's with the prof that has taught most of my classes so I know it's easy. Once I finish up with those classes, I take my comprehensive exam and I have my masters. Not a bad deal, eh?

1. Kudos in advance, Reverend |

Both sound like ideal summer classes. Do you get any input to your adviser on the comp questions? I was so surprised when mine asked me for ideas. And he actually used the suggestions, too. Lots of luck. z

4. I'm not sure how the comp thing is going to work... |
|
My adviser is a pretty laid back guy, in fact he has taught most of the classes I've taken here, so I'm sure the comps won't be coming out of left field.
Oh and thanks :hi:

2. What kind of research? |
|
And, don't be too sure, missy. When I finished my master's, I thought I was done and barely two months later, my butt was back in school getting a doctorate.
Congrats!!!!

3. yeah I have the feeling I'll get the itch for my doctorate... |
|
it depends on where I get a job next year. If I'm in a high school, I will probably be too busy but if I get a job at the college level, I'm sure I'll be taking classes.
The degree that I *should* be receiving this summer is in Health Education. I have no idea what kind of PhD I can piggyback off of that

I'd go back to school in a flash! I miss much of it. But you gave me shudders with the comps thing -- that was hell at my grad school. I had a blast at both my masters and my dissertation defenses though -- loved the research I'd been doing for 3 years and loved my adviser and committee members. Enjoy!

I'm chuckling because when I got my undergraduate degree I took the requisite "intro to research" class my senior year. Total horse after the cart. You'll sleep your way through that one.
Congrats on the pending masters!
