An incident that inspires hope...
Edited on Thu Feb-12-04 09:17 PM by Stuckinthebush
My wife and I were talking tonight about the Massachusetts legislature trying to amend the constitution to ban same-sex marriages. My 6 year old was listening and asked us what we were talking about.

My wife told her, "There are people right now trying to make sure that two women or two men can't marry. That would mean that Ms. XXX and Ms. YYYY (our friends) couldn't get married, and that Mr. XXX and Mr. YYYY (more friends that my daughter knows well) couldn't get married."

My daughter said, "Why? They are already married. Don't they love each other?"

Yes they do....

She walked off saying, "That's silly."

Why can't adults think like children sometimes?
