it is a little intriguing. Makes sense to improve efficiency where possible, especially in terms of supply lines in a battlefield environment. I guess as long as the batteries don't require excessive space...

Performance wouldn't have to suffer either. The diesel electric locomotive is a hybrid vehicle of sorts.
