Crap, financial disaster has struck! |
|
My second job as a programming contractor went from going great to tits up in a week. Argh, startups are lots of fun til they lose a major customer and run out of money.
Of course, just last week I bought a brand new PC to use for this work. I've sent out 7 resumes in the last two days looking for another position... We really needed the $ to cover my son's occupational therapy which will cost us $800/month later this year. Crap. CRAP.
If anyone needs a part-time telecommuting programmer (unix, windows, a crapload of languages, databases, distributed, multithreaded, complex algorithms, yeah I can do it), let me know!

My day job is for a company that does gov R&D work, with a security clearance, so I'm a little leery of finding more like that to avoid any conflict of interest. I will follow up on that link though, thanks for the tip!

7. How old is your son? Is he still in school? If so, he may qualify for OT in the |
|
school system under a medical 504. Ask at your son's school if he is still in school...

He's 4.5 years and will be stating services at the local elementary school shortly. However, they can't cover all of his issues so we need a private provider as well. Health insurance, our federal tax stimulus, and our FSA account will cover about 5 months of therapy and then it's out of pocket.
The 2nd job was also eliminating our debt and accelerating our down payment fund.
Well, 7 resumes out so far this week and Craig's List is very fruitful tonight - 3 more leads.
