Hi Lounge! Had To Come Here For My 20,000th Post! Ask Me Anything!
First let me say holy cow, I'm at 20,000 friggin posts? I've spent that much time here in the past few years that I've clicked submit 20,000 friggin times? Whoa... Heavy...

So I had trouble thinking of how I wanted to use my 20,000th, and basically came up with nuttin lol. So I settled on just being real and saying a few things.

When I first started here, I had no idea what I was in for, and I most certainly had no idea how infamous my handle would become. I also had no idea how addicted I'd get to this place, how many good people I'd get to know, and how this site would end up being the most valuable asset I had during the most tragic period of my life. Though I in many ways am back to my wiseass self again (well, in GDP anyway), I will never, ever forget what you all did for me. I love you all for it.

But I also find myself in awe at times at the OMC phenomenon. I mean, there are some websites that exist for the sole purpose of hating me LOL. Without my even wanting to, somehow my persona has become known far and wide by many in the political online world, and that is a bit unnerving at times. Hell, for all I know some of our Democrats or talk show hosts even know who OMC is by now lol. But I did want to take a second to say that I'm just a normal everyday guy, just like everyone else. Despite what my posts here might portray, I'm actually a quite likable, down to earth, easy to get along with, funny, gracious, generous, first one to offer help and do anything for anybody type guy in real life. It floors me sometimes the difference between how some perceive the real me to be, in contrast to who I really am. Course, I do accept a lot of that blame hehe. But still, I find myself amazed at the reach of the name OMC, and after 20,000 posts find myself wondering "shit, I'm just a wiseass, but a regular every day guy. How did things get this far?". So weird, ya know?

So having that said, I figured I'd use my 20,000th post to say HI DU!!! It's the real me here! Ask me anything!

(and I'm aware that a long post like this in the lounge might not get many replies, and that's ok. As long as you all read that I love ya!!!)

30. Yes, Indeed LOL
Scared the shit out of me the other day. I was telling Justin to get in the truck (he climbs and gets in his seat himself) and as he tried being a little defiant and running away a little, he hit his head lightly on the door. All of a sudden Jesse yelled out (in the middle of the day, mind you) FUCK!!!!. My jaw dropped and my thought process went haywire. So many things going through my head so quickly, like "how did he hear that? I'm so careful? How do I stop this? How do I address this? Oh my god, what do I do? What do I say? Should I acknowledge it? Everyone's gonna think I'm a horrible father" etc etc. I decided to say "Jesse, don't say that, that's unacceptable" or somethin like that. Justin chimed in and said "Daddy, he not say a bad word, he said truck! Leave him alone!". I though nahhhhh, that can't be it, can it? I mean, he blatantly and clearly yelled out FUCK!. So I said "Jesse, say truck". FUCK!. Jesse, say tr tr tr truck. FUCK!. Too damn funny. I've gotta get him pronouncin it right, and quick! lol

36. LOL. So typical of little kids.
When BoyMidlo was in first grade, his teacher came up to me in a panic in the hallways and said that there had been trouble on the playground. That he had been yelling 'Dick' at the top of his lungs prior to going down the slide.

Obviously, I was concerned, so I asked him at dinner why he was yelling 'Dick' at the top of his lungs.

His response was that all the boys were doing it because if they didn't do it, they would be a 'wimpy warrior'. Whatever the hell that is.

Then, as dinner progressed, he sort of mumbled to himself. "I don't know why they have everyone yell 'Dick'. There's no one in my class named 'Dick'.

Out of the mouths of babes.

and, before you get him to pronounce it correctly, video it. You'll be thrilled when he's a teen. Blackmail etc.

How are you and the boys getting along? I think about the three of you often, and hope that a bit of healing has come your way. Given that you are able to smile through your tears when watching your wedding video is indeed a good sign.

20. Hi Seattle Girl!
We're doin ok. The boys are as good as ever and are quite the characters! I'm proud to be able to say that they're developing fine and overall they're doing great, though they do miss her more nowadays. As far as me, I've learned to co-exist with the old me that's devastated, and the new me that is now a single father of 2 boys, with a new path that I have to walk down with as positive an outlook as I could muster. Lately, it's been a lot harder for some reason and I've been losing a lot of sleep, but I think that's just part of how it all works. But overall I'm doing well, and I just can't help but smile when I watch videos of her. She was just too damn awesome, ya know? :)

22. I think grief comes in waves.
I don't know if you read that my mom passed away (on 2/9), and sometimes I do okay, and then other times I am overwhelmed with grief, and all I can do is cry.

Makes it hard sometimes to put one foot in front of the other, but somehow we do it, whether it's for our children, our siblings, or ourselves, don't we?

And yes, Stacey was damned awesome! I could tell that from your posts, not only from what you said, but from what you posted about what other people said about her, too. :)

21. LOL
Thanks for the fuck nader. What a way to my heart lol.

And yeah, I probably am a bit nuts. I started in GDP with the best intentions, but was amazed at how much hatred and vitriol there was there. When I saw how lopsided it was towards hillary, and how outnumbered her supporters were, I decided to align myself with them since I figured the playing field could use some evening out, even though I love both candidates. Then after that, it just totally sucks you in! But with all the empty crap bein thrown around there, it's like a GOLDMINE for an impulsive wiseass like me. Not all of them have been winners, and some probably too nasty, but some of the zingers I've been able to throw out there have cracked me the heck up lol. Like I said, I wiseasses wet dream hehe. But I'm still amazed at how many in that forum take my posts seriously, as if I really have something vested in this. I'm just sittin behind the keyboard laughin my ass off and entertaining myself!

I really do have to remember to come to the lounge more often though. It's fun in here. :)

26. Best Book Would Be Either Along Came A Spider By James Patterson, Or The Stand By Stephen King.
The latter was a HUGE book, but I was taken aback by it. It was the first Stephen King book I ever read. Along came a spider was the first James Patterson novel I read, and I finished it in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. It was just amazing!

I always knew you were just a big teddy bear. Ya know how I knew? because you always took the time to listen and consider the other person's viewpoint as long as it was presented in a polite manner.

You may not always have agreed with said position, but you would always consider it, ask intelligent questions and meet politeness with politeness.

So now my question

Are you learning to cook now that you have two growing boys to feed? or were you always a cook? I just wanna know if we'll be seeing you in the Cooking and Baking forum anytime soon

I'll get better at having a real dinner time again one of these days, but right now I'm still just kind of going through the motions and doing the best I can to get through each day, with whatever energy I have. They are pretty picky about what they eat, and generally it's chicken fingers/nuggets, frozen meatballs, hot dogs, bologna, or microwaveable spaghetti and meatballs lol. I need to get better myself, cause I'm thin as shit to begin with and truth be told, have been skipping too many dinners lately, replacing them with a cup of coffee. Course, this damn chipped tooth down to the nerve doesn't help matters much, since even yogurt is too painful, but at least tomorrow morning I go for the root canal!

51. Play With My Kids Or Watch Rangers Hockey.
Little known fact here: While I'm zinging out my one liners and sarcastic as hell top of my head wiseass replies, I'm doing so from a laptop on the couch, usually while throwing the big bouncy ball around the room with my kids, tickling them, going after them like a monster, or while they're actually climbing on top of me LOL. If only posters in GDP knew what the real scene was around me and how lighthearted and fun it was while I'm typing those things, it would blow their minds lol. I always get the sense they'd envision me like all serious and stuff, and like, actually angry or something. I should videotape it one day lol.

But in my free time once the kids are in bed? If a rangers game is on I'm watchin that, or else I'm cleaning, doing laundry, paying bills, etc. Nowadays since I've kinda entered the dating scene again, it may also entail chatting on the phone or having someone over etc.

Really though, nothing all too exciting. Wish I had a more exciting answer for ya! lol
