Offices throbbing with romance, St. Valentine's Day survey reveals
Two internet surveys released yesterday, just in time for St. Valentine's Day this weekend, reveal that Taiwan's young people are finding more opportunities to engage in office romance.

Although 63 percent of respondents to the polls said they have been involved in romantic affairs with co-workers at the office, most replied that they would try their best to keep affairs at work a secret from their colleagues.

This would be a good idea as a similar 64 percent of bosses and managers surveyed said having too close a personal intimate relationship with the opposite sex at work would affect an employee's job performance.

As Valentine's Day approaches Taiwanese will spend on average NT$ 2,000 to 4,000 (41.7 percent) and between NT$ 4,000 to 6,000 (26.3 percent) on gifts, dinner outings, or other amorous activities with their dates.
