Hugh Jackman is a Musical Theater GOD!

just got home from seeing THE BOY FROM OZ on Broadway.... i have been attending pretty much every musical production here for the last 20+ years and this was one of the most THRILLING performances ever.

the show has some problems, but the CAST is extraordinary. the woman who 'does' Judy Garland is breathtaking and perfect in every way. the Liza tears the roof off in her big number. and there's this 12yo kid who utterly stops the show.

if you can see this, do. he's playing it through october!

(ya know how you can see something that really THRILLS and ENERGIZES you? this is one of those performances!)

1. And a Huge Babe Factor to boot...

The fact that someone so daggone handsome as he gets out there and really stretches as an actor and doesn't get trapped in the leading man role stuff, is wonderful to see.

2. absolutely but...

that man can DANCE! of course, when he took his shirt off... :wow: even the gay kiss got a big ovation... (and his BF in the show, Jarrod Emick is gorgeous too!)

he has a LONG resume of musical roles in Australia...

3. saw him interview about this part.

He is fearless and totally comfortable with who he is to take these roles and not be stereotyped. We should all be so lucky to have that kind of self-comfort.

4. you know the BEST thing about this performance?

you KNOW he is having the TIME OF HIS LIFE up on that stage. from the opening seconds he pulls you in to his story (well, Allen's) and well, there's pure, open, honest JOY of performing--which, of course, is the HEART of capturing Peter Allen.

sorry....... will be on a HUGH HIGH for a while! ;-)
