3. It's really too bad he died
If he'd stayed alive, maybe we wouldn't have all these shit bands.

Imagine if he was still physically present to today? He'd have put his axe through Justin Timberlake, though I bet Timberlake and his ilk would not have happened.

But then, one should never underestimate the ability of American culture to rapidly take anything new straight to the artistic bottom.

But I like to think that musically speaking, things would be a lot better today if Jimi were still around.

And even if things wouldn't be better, I'd love to hear how well he could play after another 30 years of solid performing and practice.

although i dont deny that i would like to see timberlake hit upside the head with a stratocaster... i dont think its worth wasting a good guitar on him.

i really think he woulda gone into blues or jazz had he lived... ive heard some of his early blues stuff and i loved it. damn shame.

5. Plug for Cleveland's
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...

Great stuff onHendrix. Did you know he was a pilot in service to the U.S? (Sorry to be so vague on details...too much to absorb in one 4 hour visit to the museum) They have some of his artwork on display, as well as letters from his father to, well, screw it (which i seem to be saying more and more these days...) just go there and see and hear it for yourself!

7. congratulations LK
that's a great picture, and i think he would be big into jazz, cuz jazz was invented by and for musicians.

9. Great tribute to the master, LastKnight
One of my biggest regrets is having passed up the chance to see Jimi in person in 1970, shortly before his death. I especially grieve his passing because he was getting more and more into serious blues at the end. A great CD of that material is aptly entitled "Blues" on the MCA label. Fortunately, Jimi's blues inspiration Buddy Guy is still with us and playing strong.

10. How did you like the Pepsi commercial with Jimi Hendrix in it?
Where he buys a Pepsi in front of the guitar store instead of the Coke in front of the accordion store?

11. someone really should have told him...
that he's holding his guitar upside-down.

(yes, I know that he was left-handed, and it's one of his tradmarks...)
