Yup, going to see 10,000 BC tomorrow morning
It did $12.5 million Friday, and nearly 60% of the people who rated it on Box Office Mojo gave it an A, so I'm a going. Yes I am. And for 89 minutes I'm going to forget about politics and my shitty old life.

6. I take that w/ a grain
of salt.

It's the same guy who did Independence Day, which was fun if not deep.

I think the critics were disappointed trying to look for something that isn't there.

7. Sounds like you're determined to like it
Which is good. Me? i figure it's directed by Roland Emmerich, which means there'll be about 10 minutes of it that's kinda interesting and the rest incredibly boring.

14. Never saw the original "Doomsday"
Edited on Sun Mar-09-08 11:08 AM by NewJeffCT
but, the trailer reminded me a bit of Mad Max/Road Warrior. And, the female lead (Rhona Mitra?) reminded me a bit of Kate Beckinsale...

10. You'd do better renting the BBC documentary "Walking With Beasts."
5-6 hours of entertainment featuring prehistoric mammals, with better special effects than the movie will probably have.

Also, no annoying actors, just Stockard Channing doing narration.

11. Nah, I always suspend my disbelief
I went to see Transformers twice before I got the DVD, and it wasn't for the Camaro. I even enjoyed Dragon Wars.

13. well, as long as people get that the civilization depicted...
is fictional.

I'm not interested in seeing it, as the idea of a civilization in 10000BCE with that kind of construction just irks me. Seems like pseudoscience to me.

15. OK I went AND
1) Everyone needed a bath or shower, badly

2) BUT, they all had the whitest, most perfect teeth I've ever seen

3) No one breathed vapor when they were in the cold, cold mountains

4)I didn't know mastodon's could run downhill at breakneck speed

But I enjoyed it. I'll give it a B-.

There are some GOOD movies coming out this summer, Hellboy 2, Batman The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Wanted, it will be a good summer.
