It's later than we think (DST gripe) |
|
One hour later to be precise.
Hmmm... if I stay up to watch SNL, it will be two am before it's over.
Then I gotta run around changing clocks on every freaking appliance I own, including the freakin' cars, remembering which one I've already changed.
Makes about as much sense as trying to make a rope longer by cutting off one end and tying it onto the other.
Weekends are too short anyway without losing an hour. Yeah, I know we get it back in the fall but do we see interest on that day? Hell, no. It's like letting the IRS over-withhold your money. No interest on that either.
I hates it. Leave our clocks alone.

I think Arizona and Hawii have got it right, as well as some parts of Indiana.

2. Sometimes I think I'm the only one on the planet that likes DST. |
|
Seems all I ever hear is people bitching about it. I, on the other hand, LOVE it. I love when it's daylight for longer. Especially after months of having it dark well before 5pm. I'm WAY more productive in the summer! :D

3. Nothing is preventing the DST lovers |
|
from simply going to bed and getting up an hour earlier. All DST does is force everyone to do that. It's more than a little puritanical in that respect.
It also really screws with my amateur astronomy. At this latitude, we only get maybe two hours of non-twilit dark skies in mid summer anyway. DST makes it worse by delaying the end of astronomical twilight until midnight or later.
But I glad to hear that someone loves it.
