I just haven't been myself lately...

Sorry to keep posting self-pitying depressed whiny bullshit. But... this is where I'm at right now.

Yesterday, I ran into a friend who works at this really cool little independent bookstore that I always hang out at (or used to, before shit happened), and I sometimes volunteer at. She was like, "I haven't seen you in ages! Come to the bookstore sometime, okay? We miss you!"

And honestly, it made me so sad. I mean, I told her it's because I've been busy, but really, it's because I've been feeling rather like shit lately and haven't felt like going out much.

I guess people miss the old me. I miss the old me, too. :(

1. I understand where you are coming from
I've kind of been through the same thing. I too have a lot of difficult family issues that have made me feel the same way. I am getting a little better (thanks to treatment for anxiety/depression to some extent). Sure sounds like you are clinically depressed. Maybe when you get your family issues straightened out (didn't you say you were moving in with your dad?) you can talk to someone about it? I really think talk therapy might be helpful for you AND your family...:hi:

Oh btw, there is a really nice Mental Health Support Group here. You should check it out. Lots of really really nice and supportive people.

expectations of how you "should" be. Maybe you should just show up and accept the love. It might help you find a lost piece of you! Best wishes.

3. from reading your past posts....
it's pretty clear that your home life is somewhat emotionally toxic. :(

May I recommend Cognitive Behavioral Therapy? If you're not familiar, there's a book called Feeling Good by David Burns: http://www.amazon.com/Feeling-Good-Therapy-Revised-Updated/dp/0380810336/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1205089942&sr=1-1

In a nutshell, it's a self-paced, drug free way of improving your mood and it has helped me with minor depression and anxiety in the past.

I hope it gets better for you soon AspieGrrl.
