I had such a downfall this weekend (I'm still not the great adult skater I'd like to be--far from it), and I've had no one (except in DU lounge) to really talk to. It's going to be a long week. :(

2. You can do things on skates that the rest of us couldn't begin

to attempt. Instead of making your goal the medal, make your goal to do better this week than last week.

FWIW - my husband tells me that when he ran high school track, he ran better than the school records. It was just his misfortune to be on the same team with a couple of kids who made All-State, and they blew him away.
