I seriously didn't want to see Elton John tonight - but now I'll have to
My friend bought 2 tickets and then realized she was going to be away that week. I specifically did not get tickets because I thought $145 was way too much to pay to see someone you're not exactly super keen on (If the tickets were half that price I would perhaps have gone).

So now I'm stuck selling the tickets on EBAY (no bites) and worse off none of the tickets were next to each other, so no one really wants them.

But I figured she still owes me for my Jethro Tull w/ opening act Peter Frampton - so I'll use one of the tickets.

Anyone near Newark DE want to go see Elton John tonight?

1. So how was the show?
A recording of it has been posted on one of the torrent sites I frequent.

2. I have no clue - the Bob Carpenter was the WORST venue
My $145 ticket was the same price as those in the front row and yet i was stuck on a cement bench for a seating area that is normally used as cheap student seats for home basketball games. I couldn't even find my seat since well, everyone was sitting on the numbers and I think there were a few extras in the row so I ended up with half a butt on the end of the bench, no seat back to allow me to relax during the show and since I was sitting next to the steps my legs were up by my chin.

I'm actually planning on writing letters to the News Journal and the people who run the Bob Carpenter - charging that outrageous of a price for absolutely shitty seats. If front row seats to Elton John were $145, these these tickets should have been no more than $75

6. I've been hanging around madinmaryland too much..
He's like a virus..highly contagious...

Seriously though, that does sound like a pathetic set up. Pricing for tickets for concerts is just way nutty. I really wanted to see the Eagles a few years ago but considering the prices STARTED at about $100 per seat..there was no way I was gonna shell that out to sit in the rafters or behind a pole....:banghead:

10. I've paid that much money for a ticket for the right concert
and by all means, Elton John is worth that kind of money. But if I spend $145 for a ticket I guess I expect a somewhat decent seat. Something my ass can personally call home for 3 hours. I had nothing of the sort and ended up standing for about 45 minutes behind the seating just so my ass could wake up from the numbing it was getting.

7. I agree. I saw Meat Loaf there on the "Bat II" tour.
It's just a big box for basketball. On the brighter side, they have the worst security, which allowed me to meet Meat Loaf earlier that day. :) I had gone down to get a ticket, and ran into two young ladies who were there to do Meat Loaf's hair for an Olympics promo he was filming that afternoon. I talked them into taking me backstage with them. My only goal was to meet Kasim Sulton, Meat's guitarist/keyboardist (at the time...he later moved to bass and musical direction), but I managed to meet Meat as well.

11. I found it funny that the only college kids at this concert...
...where the ones working security. I could have easily gotten back there.

And they didn't even give the kids penlights to do their job - they were using their cell phone lights to read tickets.
