Positive thing I'm doing for myself:
1. Learning about my cancer, even things that I don't really want to know.

2. Made contact with the LiveSTRONG site. Lots of helpful information there!

3. Started wearing a LiveSTRONG bracelet. I ordered dozens a few years ago when they first came out and wore one and gave the rest away. But I had one left for me. :)

4. Ordered a breathing mask so that I can rest at my daughter's house between classes (I'm allergic to cats and she has four!)

5. Came up with a fair and reasonable grading scheme for my four math classes to cut down on time spent grading.

6. Spent time with my family and, as always, my dogs.

7. Came here to tell y'all! :grouphug:

1. Sounds like you are tackling what you can.
Do not be afraid to let go of the unessential things that you do. If you need to hire someone to come in and clean for you every so often, do it.

2. I have a wonderful cleaning professional
(can't call her anything else -- she's amazing!) who comes every other week. She was here Saturday and I told her the news. I speak a little Spanish and she speaks a little English but we figure out a way to communicate (with the help of an online translator now and then.) She told me in Spanish that everything will be okay and I believe her. She's the sweetest gal! :)

9. Very good.
I don't know if you have any of those make ahead dinner places (Dream Dinners, etc)near you. Some of them have a concierge service where they assemble each meal at a modest extra charge. You take it home, freeze it, and when you want to serve it, you take it out of the freezer, follow the easy prep directions and you have dinner. That might be helpful.

10. That's an excellent idea!
We eat way too many frozen dinners, pizza, or sandwiches. Mr. Longhorn has band rehearsal two nights a week and I used to work late four nights but it will only be two now that I'm not tutoring. We could also stop by Central Market where they have a lot of already prepared dinners to go that are quite good. It's time to take care of ourselves better. Thanks, Hon!

4. Keep doing them all.
I am amazed at how my co-worker with pancreatic cancer that's now invaded his liver is holding up. He's one of the strongest people I've ever met. He's spending a great deal more time with his family and he smiles more than he did before he was diagnosed. He appreciates life so much more now and he never ever EVER sweats the small stuff anymore. In addition to helping him heal, he's been a HUGE inspiration to us all.

Thinking of you and wishing you health and happiness.

8. The only one I know of so far meets while I'm teaching
45 minutes away. I should look further, though. Thanks for the suggestion!

13. Now those look like some kickin' and stompin' boots!
I'm thinking about getting some boots. I've never had any cowboy boots in the 37 years I've lived in Texas! Thanks!

16. 8. Started adding these health-related posts to your DU Journal
It's a small move, but it's much appreciated! For those of us who don't read the Lounge regularly, checking your journal will be an easy way for us to monitor your recovery. :hi:
