Is powdered laundry soap better for the environment? |
|
My wife claims that since it weighs less than the liquid variety, less fuel is used to transport it. Is this true?

1. I don't know. It usually won't disolve in cold water, wouldn't that negate the benefits? |

I use liquids, but very concentrated ones.

A huge part of it's environmental impact isn't the wet vs dry, but what is used to make either one. Also, how concentrated they are, the packaging, biodegradable-ness, etc. AFAIK, there are more environmentally friendly, super concentrated liquid detergents than powders. Liquid is also easier to use in cold water, which has a positive environmental impact.
