Anyone Ever Done an Internal Cleansing Program?
I'm in the middle of the four-week Cleanse Thyself program. It's very challenging, but I feel great.

I'd be interested to hear from others who have cleansed.

9. How does that work ????

You cleanse yourself by introducing new chemicals to your system?????

What's the difference between a drug and an herb??? The difference is that the biological affects of a drug are pretty well understood. The herb on the other hand, introduces chemicals that may be dangerous.

If you want to "cleanse" yourself, try fasting and drinking LOTS of water. I heard that liberal doses of a mystery substance called "Metamucil" will work as well ;-)

8. Juice fast . . .
did it for me. Three weeks. After the first week (when I felt like I was starving), the feel-good started coming on. Aches, pains, zits, all kinds of crappy (ahem) health issues disappeared.

Lots of people don't know that something you ate in 1988 can still be in your body today nicely cemented in your large intestine. The more red meat you eat, the more likely you are to develop colon cancer.

So for you Atkins folks, stick to chicken and fish.

11. Hey, TT, questions:
I just came off a 1 week fast. I took a cup of warm milk every morning (fasting makes you cold) to keep from losing muscle and the juice of quarter of a lime in water at lunch and again at dinner time (you need some sugar for your brain - I felt dizzy when I skipped my juice). I took a multi-vitamin too. I read that the hunger would disappear after 3 days. It didn't. Hunger was never a big deal. I'd feel hungry for a couple minutes maybe 3-5 times a day. No biggie. Does the hunger actually disappear after a week? I was most hungry on the last 2 days. I guess everybody's different, to some extent. Did you actually experience a really noticeable difference in how you felt or was it just subtle differences. I didn't notice any real difference except that I could do my daily walk faster without all that extra food weight in my guts. How much weight did you lose?

14. Lost 10 pounds in 4 weeks . . .
which is good because I'm thin. I've always been about the same weight, so 10 pounds was a big loss.

I did it to try to get rid of some joint and muscle pain, and the fast helped greatly with that. I also noticed a higher energy level and increased exercise stamina, especially after the fast. My hunger did completely disappear as long as I stayed tanked up. I drank all the juice I wanted (mostly carrot, banana, orange, and mixed veggie).

I didn't think about drinking milk. That's probably smart. I did it in the summer in Houston, so being cold wasn't an issue.

It has been several years since I did it. I really believe that keeping things moving has kept me joint pain-free (most of the time).

10. Fiber.. and lots of it
both soluble and insoluble. It does wonders. I discovered Citrucel a few years ago and consider it nothing short of a miracle.

17. It's good, and here's some more
Flax seed (ground and cold-pressed oil)
Rice bran
Wheat bran (miller's bran)
Anasazi beans (any beans, Anasazi aren't so gassy)
Lentils

It's all so cheap and good for you. I do have a killer cornbread recipe if anyone wants it.

16. Yeah, why waste time with a program when bad seafood will do it in a day?
Get the whole digestive tract cleaned out in both directions.

15. I have and it's a great feeling
I had chronic kidney problems for years and just recently went off all the antibiotics, etc., that I'd been on forever. I lost 15 lbs. in water.

I have a few friends who've done the liver cleanse too - no protein, coffee, alcohol for 3 weeks. Basically you eat a lot of brown rice and steamed veggies. They've said it's really hard at first, but it feels really good once you get into it.

Good luck and keep up the good work! :hi:
