What's your IQ? Take this test and tell us your score....
http://web.tickle.com/tests/uiq/

.....I scored a 115....you are a Word Warrior.

This means you have exceptional verbal skills. You can easily make sense of complex issues and take an unusually creative approach to solving problems. Your strengths also make you a visionary.

....what's your score?

1. 138
Congratulations, Gina!
Your IQ score is 138

This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

Your Intellectual Type is Facts Curator. This means you are highly intelligent and have picked up an impressive and unique collection of facts and figures over the years. You've got a remarkable vocabulary and exceptional math skills — which puts you in the same class as brainiacs like Bill Gates. And that's just some of what we know about you from your test results.

Your Intellectual Type is Visionary Philosopher. This means you are highly intelligent and have a powerful mix of skills and insight that can be applied in a variety of different ways. Like Plato, your exceptional math and verbal skills make you very adept at explaining things to others — and at anticipating and predicting patterns. 15. Your IQ score is 144
This number is the result of a formula based on how many questions you answered correctly on Emode's Classic IQ test. Your IQ score is scientifically accurate; to read more about the science behind our IQ test, click here.

During the test, you answered four different types of questions — mathematical, visual-spatial, linguistic and logical. We analyzed how you did on each of those questions which reveals how your brain uniquely works.

We also compared your answers with others who have taken the test. According to the sorts of questions you got correct, we can tell your Intellectual Type is a Visionary Philosopher.

This means you are highly intelligent and have a powerful mix of skills and insight that can be applied in a variety of different ways. Like Plato, your exceptional math and verbal skills make you very adept at explaining things to others — and at anticipating and predicting patterns. And that's just some of what we know about you from your IQ results.

I never took the SAT test, but they gave us the PSAT in school- I don't remember the score, but I was a "National Merit Scholar", and they tried to scam our family with the "Who's Who in American High Schools" book...My high school didn't really stress taking the SAT, and instead we took the ACT test, which I did in my junior year, in 1978. My ACT composite score was 32, and I was in the 99th percentile in all categories.

I got a 140.

Seems like this kind of "free" (i.e. advertising) test has an incentive to inflate grades. And how accurate can any test be that is based on 20 multiple choice questions? No matter what it is trying to measure.

I've always thought IQ tests in general were a bunch of nonsense. This is the first time I've actually tried one.

to protect itself from meltdown by completely shutting out all data, no matter how true or contrary, that doesn't fit within the parameters of your reality. While in a higher being this brain functioning would be a handicap, for the easily-led lower IQ people such as yourself it is an important survival mechanism which keeps you both from going insane, and also to hold two or three or even more completely contrary thoughts as all true."

70. 146 "Visionary Philosopher"
but I don't think this is a terribly good test.

Remember the question about "which one doesn't belong?"

It was something like:

Horse
Kangaroo
Cow
Donkey
Deer

Weeeeeeell, the kangaroo could be it, it's the only originating from Australia. Or the Donkey could be it, it's the only one that represents stupidity as a symbol in literature. Or the horse could be it, it's the only one mostly a "show animal" today. Or the deer could be it, it's the only one to star in a Disney movie (Bambi). Or the cow could be it, it's the only one with a "Mad X" scare over it.

So, depending on how deep of a thinker you are and your experiences and your perspective, it could be any one of these.

Bad test.

Your IQ score is 144

This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others.

And that's just some of what we know about you from your IQ results.

80. But, consider the following:
The ones posting here are high scorers, yes, but - we are all on DU computer savvy, at least, and so probably on the higher spectrum end of dem in terms of intelligence. Not necessarily, but probably, DU represents a far more dense mingling of high IQ people than regular democrats at large. DU is the kind of place where intelligence is appreciated and celebrated, and the kind of thing that attracts, probably mostly, people who are intellectually curious and able to think and be coherent in thought.

Also, I'd imagine that a lot of poeple who have come to this thread and scored less than 120 have been ashamed to post, or perhaps wouldn't even bother to take the test.

If I were of average inteliigence, I might be hesitant to step right up and take the test and announce I got a 105 or something.

So the sampling in this thread is definitely skewed.

Though I do have an inkling of a feeling that dems tend to be of higher intelligence than republicans. I'd bet money that we are at least more intellectually curious than republicans.

and we have to be to some degree. i mean we think for ourselves, that takes some level of intellectuial strength rather than just following like the dittoheads do. this can also be our downfall when we are such independent thinkers. i mean we started out with 10 canadates... that alone shows how diverse our ideas are. if we could just give a little here and there within our own party to accomplish some greater good which is starting to happen, but i think that our intellegence is partly responsible for our damned stupid in-fighting. just my 2 pennies.

105. Anyone want to tell me the answer to this one? . . .
. . . the one about two cars on a straight road heading in opposite directions. They each drove 6 miles, then turned left and drove 8 more. How far apart did they end up? I think that was the question. Anyone care to give me the answer? I thought the answer should be 28 or 4 but neither of those were choices. So I put 14. Anyone want to tell me how I screwed that one up so bad? Or maybe I got it right. I have no idea . . . *lol* :7

107. Thanks for your help . . .
. . . I confess, I'm still lost. I thought maybe it was a trick question since you can't turn left on a straight road. So one theory I posited was one where the "left" turn actually became a 180 and they ended up passing each other. *lol* That's where I came up with 4 miles . . . which was NOT a choice. So what you're suggesting is that the distance is actually 'as the crow flies'? If this is the case, then I think there is no way that 14 could be the answer. I think the answer should have been 20 miles 'as the crow flies'. I wonder if 20 was one of the options. If I had it to do over, that is the answer I'd put. Thanks camero, for taking the time to answer my question and help me look at this in a different way. :hi:

113. So, camero, do you think . . .
. . . 20 is the right answer? I confess, as an artist, I gave up on math pretty early on. I never made it through algebra, let alone geometry or trigonometry. To come up with 20 just now, I drew a '12 mile' line using quarter inches as miles. Then made left turns as exact 45 degree angles and drew two 8 mile lines going in opposite directions. Then I measured a straight line between the two final stopping points, which turned out to be 20 miles (5 inches). Does this sound accurate? Is this how you understood the question? I don't see how it could work any other way. Oh well, it doesn't matter. But if I had it to do again, I think I'd put 20 this time. :-)

115. the anwser was 20
if they both start at the same point and go in opposite direcitons for 8 miles i think was the number i got, then they both turn right and travel for 6 miles... you you draw a line connecting one of the car's starting points to its ending points... you have a triangle. use pythagoreom (sp?) theorem to solve for the missing side, you have 10, then double it, for the distance to the other car, then you have 20. simple geometry.
