I don't post that much. I do lurk alot and feel like I know some of the regular posters kind of. I guess I need to join and post more often. I love the lounge and the funny links and some of the writing skills of some of the posters is amazingly hilarious. One reponse to the question about what liberal stereotypes had me rolling. I always enjoy reading the responses to funny questions too.

and just registered today. But this is as good a thread as any to introduce myself. So, hello! I found this board via Google a couple of days ago while doing searches on the candidates. I've lived in Pennsylvania all my life, and it has never mattered in the primaries for as long as I've been voting (1988, when I voted for Dukakis in the GE but didn't vote at all in the primary), so it's exciting to finally be able to have a say. I really wish we would have ONE primary day for the whole nation though, so everybody could vote for the whole slate of candidates. I'm really on the fence when it comes to Hillary or Obama, though in the end I'd be fine with any of them - but I did place both Biden and Richardson and maybe even Edwards above them on my preference list in December before the voting had begun. I don't feel any pressure in deciding since there's lots of time yet, but among other things I will enjoy reading the (very heated!) discussions that I've seen go on here.

Yes, I've read the primaries forum and all the others on the main page, and also found the state forums with Pennsylvania being one of the more active. I understand emotions run high between supporters, but I'll grant you some stuff have seemingly been over the top. That said, if Obama and Hillary can keep from completely tearing each other down, I don't necessarily see a problem with a prolonged competition. Contrary to '04 when it was pretty much over after Kerry won Iowa, this is a much more exiting race to follow. Most states will be able to have their say, the candidates will be thoroughly vetted, more people will involve themselves at grassroots level and hopefully help carry the momentum into the GE, and as it stands now it gives the Democrats mostly all of the media coverage. I doesn't matter much that we are still competing amongst ourselves and not against McCain if he is more or less invisible to the broader public eye. And it doesn't look likely that either candidate will drop out before the primaries are over in June anyway; and if they are still pretty much level at that point, barring any top-level brokering, they'll both go to the convention vying for the nomination. We're dealing with two very strong minds here, that much is clear. All the polls I've seen so far indicate a win for Hillary in PA, and that would probably give her the momentum to stay in - but a lot can happen in over a month! Exciting times for sure! ;)

I have only started a few. When I had a question a few times or when I had pictures or info I thought was important and wanted to share. I do have three LOUD boys running around and trying to get a well formed sentence that actually makes sense is sometimes hard to do. Most of the time I recommend what I like or kick threads so that I don't type something that sounds too foolish. I am pretty shy and self-conscience about what I write, so a lot of times I will write a reply and then not send it. I like the lounge though. Didn't register until 2004 but do not go a day without coming here. I don't have a lot of time to post, so I mostly lurk (although I hate that word, I like to think I am visiting). This is where I get all my information, debating points, late breaking news, humor (love the kitty treads...and doggies,too!) and feel a kinship with fellow Democrats who have become as familiar to me as my "real life" friends. This site has gotten us through a lot devastating situations and been a beacon for hope. Even the in-fighting over the nomination, while I find disturbing, is a reflection of the feeling of the people I interact with everyday. Couldn't get though this without DU and the people who visit here. You guys ROCK!
