Need help loading a picture.

I feel left out, I don't know how to put a picture from my computer into a post. I know how to get one from the internet, and post it.

I've tried what I can think of and still haven't figured it out. I want to post a pic of myself, but don't know how.

1. You'll need somewhere to upload it.

Either a website of your own (and not one of the free ones like geocities or tripod. They don't allow 'hotlinking', when you try to link to an image from another website.), or an account on a site like photobucket.com or flickr.com where they'll allow you to upload pictures.

Then once you have it uploaded somewhere, you just need to copy the URL here in a DU post.

2. Here you go...

1) Open up a Photobucket account.

2) Follow the directions to upload a photo from your computer, into photobucket, which is an image hosting service.

3) When your photo is uploaded to photobucket, 4 links will be shown under the photo in your "album".

4) Copy the 2nd link from the top (says "direct link") into your DU post.

5) Preview your post to make sure you did it correctly.

You need to start with an account at a photo hosting place, like Photobucket...

Follow their instructions...

Just keep hitting "open" whenever that is the command...

Once you've gotten it in there, then just hit IMG Code under the picture...

And you'll be here!

I often use the preview button on DU to make sure I've done it right...

Go to an image hosting site. www.photobucket.com is the one I use. Create an account. It's free.

They make it easy to upload pictures. Click on the "Browse" button, which lets you browse your own computer to find photos you want to upload to the internet. Click on the picture you want, and click okay.

Repeat this process for each picture you want to upload. When you've selected all of them, hit the "Upload" button. Photobucket will upload your pictures from your computer to your account.

Every picture in your Photobucket album has links underneigth it. Click on the one that says "Direct Link." Copy that link into any post. That picture will now appear in your post.
