1. He did swear a lot.
Looks like the car stopped against an inanimate object, so just some body damage. However, I don’t believe it just popped out of gear; he didn’t put it in park, like you said. He recovered pretty well, but the person he pulled over probably had a hard time not laughing.

3. Yeah, I would have taken it as a 'sign'.
Give the guy a pass.

4. Plus if the ticket goes to court
He would be in for some major embarrassment, then again maybe it did. That's why the video is on YouTube

5. I was getting ready to pull out of the driveway one time and I got called
into the house to answer the phone. I must have left my car in neutral, because my daughter asked "Mom, where's the car?" "Right outside the do...." My Chevette had rolled down the driveway, across the state highway (Two lane , and fortunately empty that early on a Saturday) and landed upside sown in the ditch. That part was lucky, because across the road is a pretty steep drop off to the river!
Oddly enough, aside from a minor dent in the roof that my husband knocked out, the car was fine.

The brakes on those old Chevettes are only one step up from the ones Fred Flintstone used, but other than that it was a pretty sturdy little car.
