Why does TAPS hardly ever come up with anything? |
|
I'm addicted to the show, because of the interaction between the different personalities, but the results are getting a little boring.:smoke:

1. They had some good EVPs from Fort Mifflin, though. And the video from |
|
Eastern State Penitentiary was pretty awesome.
Tell you what, though, I really felt they had lost their edge when they went to Europe; like they left their debunking skills at home. Same for the new team they have over there, although it seems a bit better lately. (Can I just say that I am not really a fan of Andy or Brian??)

Brian got on my nerves but not like Andy. I want to slap his hand away when he puts that one finger up to his chin. And he does not want to ghost hunt, he just wants to debunk everything. I feel Brian and that chick they had on the Willard Library investigation, are the reason they did not get anything. They were screaming at each other. I have watched the Willard webcams and have actually seen things on the cam.

9. Andy, when he was first on, was the least likely to debunk anything. Remember the |
|
coastguard station that he took them to? Talk about a bust.
Still, Ghost Hunters is head and shoulders above the other paranormal search shows I have seen. Those have mostly been about who can get the rest of the group psyched out the most. "I feel a ghost!" "Yes, yes I feel it too!" Happens on GH, but nearly as bad as those other shows.

OH MY GOD...
Those people freak at a board creak.
and then when they had that psychic on that nearly every episode for a while he was being possessed.

11. Yeah, that stuff drives me NUTS. (FYI, I forgot to say it' Irish Brian who gets |
|
on my nerves. American Brian is such a goofball I just laugh at him. I almost wet myself giggling when I found out that he was in the Air Force and worked security for nukes.... "Dude, run!!"

13. Irish Brian, I like him because he shows spirits respect. |
|
He does not do a lot of taunting. Sometimes when Dustin or Brian get to taunting, I am actually rooting for the ghost to knock the piss out of them. Like that Elemental at Castle Leap did to Dustin.

16. He can be a little over dramatic sometimes. |
|
But part of what he is trying to tell them, they are dealing with a wholy different type of spirit in Europe. These things have been haunting for a lot longer, and things that happened to them were far more traumatic than some of the spirits they see in America. I just love that they are actually picking up old gaelic and italian, and other languages on EVPs. I saw one show one time they got an evp and the damn ghost they said they got was speaking good American english, and they were in a country where that could not happen.

17. Now see, that's exactly what I don't like. This whole idea of European |
|
spirits being somehow more special. Yes, there have been some great traumatic events in Europe but if we were to send TAPS to places where great traumas happened here (Civil War grounds such as next week, slave homes, native burial grounds of war dead) we probably should offer the same respect as they are over there?
(Am I making sense here at all?)

18. A lot of trauma has happened here. |
|
But the history of some of those buildings put our oldest buildings to shame. Most of ours have not hit 300 yet. A few are maybe over 300. Some of theirs have been there for thousands. I can't wait for the Civil War one next week. Did you see that picture frame move?

19. I did see that frame! But I have heard that Gettysburg is one of the most |
|
haunted places in America, so there's potential there for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if some sort of residual haunting turned up.
What did you think of the Fort Mifflin EVPs? Those were freaky.

26. Yeah, they are also talking about a hunt they did down south. |
|
And supposedly they got some really wild stuff, it will be on sometime later this spring. I can't wait to see.
I liked those EVPs for the fact that the accent was very rough British, Grant kept saying it was a hillbilly accent, but I swear it sounded to me like a british accent, like you hear them use in pirate movies, and the run down areas of London.

28. hmmm.. I thought the "boss wants it deeper" sounded southern to me, but |
|
"Can I have some water sir?" might have had a British tinge to it.
I wish they could have gotten some EVPs from the poor lady in the officer's quarters. She sounded like someone who needed help maybe in moving on. They did get that Mommy sound, but I swear it sounded like a bird in some ways.

I end up straining my eyes because I do this :eyes: through the whole show. That woman, I swear, all she seems to have happen to her is spirits breath on her neck and ears. And she freaks at the tiniest of noises.

2. It's hard to come up with good evidence in such a short amount of time. |
|
I think they'd have to stay at these places for a week or two to get some solid evidence and not just one night.
Like Jason and Grant said before, some nights the ghosts don't want to come out and play.

And other shows they show that they can debunk and prove it is not a haunting. Or that night they were there the activity did not want to perform.

They try to debunk everything they get. They are probably the most reputable ghost hunter group out there. They are good guys, and just want to help people. They are even friends with people who exorcise homes and use them when necessary. I believe it is a real phenomenon, but then again I believe in ghosts and demons. I believe I have seen both. Duckie

I don't believe in the stuff, but it's addicting.
What I don't get is filming in the dark. It sounds like from the stories people tell, the paranormal stuff happens in the day time or when there's lights on. Another thing, they talk too much. They debunk nearly everything. The guys scream like little girls sometimes. Paranormal totally sucks, fake crap.

31. I don't think the paranormal is fake, but there is a part of me that thinks |
|
about how things can be made-for-TV. I don't want to be skeptical of TAPS because I really like J and G as people. But there is always that little skeptic in me thinking about how easy it is to stage stuff.
