1. Would have liked to have seen Sean Connery in the role in his prime.

4. Watched Brando on MOTB last night on TCM.
Bizarre performance, to say the least. Trevor Howard was a good Capt Bligh. And the photography and music were first-rate.

6. Born in America, moved to Australia at age 12. Although he probably denies that, too.

7. Errol Flynn played Christian, too.
But it was an early silent. I saw a clip at a Bounty exhibition in Sydney years back.

I voted Gable. But recently, I saw the Brando version finally all the way through and in colour (as a kid, bedtime for school left a lot of movies without endings). I liked it.

8. Never seen either of them
but I recorded both the Gable and Brando versions on TMC recently. Maybe I'll give 'em a watch today.

9. Well Gable was better performance than Brando, but...

Marlon was surely a flashier dresser! Catch his outfit when he first boards the Bounty. And check out his fucking pajamas!
